Next project...The Foo Bass

Step 1. Prep neck woods.
I ran both the neck blank and the fretboard blank through the planer to get everything nice and flat.

The maple is hard but it has nothing on the ebony. Holy crap.

Next up, cutting a slot for the truss rod.
 
I dunno. The fretboard may go back.
This stuff splinters very badly into huge knifelike gouging machines vicious enough to remove meat.
Not exactly a good quality in a fretboard.
It has a unique appearance. But the splintering thing may be the reason I have never heard of it used for guitars.

I once had a Korean made Tele that exact color. It grabbed my eyes from across the room and I had to follow. Hey, I needed those eyes.
