I know we have originals coming up, but I'm planning ahead.
Any of the above.
I'd prefer not Tom Waits, but it might be an interesting thing for me to learn a TW song and record it.
I kinda like the country/folk angle...followed by metal...
This is a pretty rocking Tom Waits cover:

Metal songs done in a country/folk style.
Can i just cover one of my originals?
country done metal?
I was going to add "Phil's Originals" but apparently I can't edit a poll.
That would work too.
or vice versa.
I think I actually suggested this at GJ some time ago.
I've always wanted to do a thrash cover of johnny cash's "blistered"...time to get to work...
I've had an idea for a Pantera song in a country/bluegrass-ish style for quite a while.
Maybe I'll get around to doing it.
When i first got my recorder i tried to do a rock version of Sister Golden Hair. prages heard it. It failed in execution, but the idea had merit.
Country/folk versions of metal songs than Phil has covered before.....
...I went with country/folk...I would highly protest an all Waits coverfest...maybe a famous songwriters coverfest too someday, Lennon/McCartney, Willie Nelson, Roy Orbison, Stevie Wonder, so on...
Considering I started recording a cover of a country song (done country style) on Sunday that would be easiest for me. It should be cool when it's done, one of the guys knows some chick who plays violin and cello so she's gonna come by in the next week to lay down a mini string section.
Here name is Tiffany so she's probably hot too.
So did we ever decided the topic/date?
I think a country/ rockabilly thing would be cool.
