Somebody at Dean is smoking crack. $600 is way too expensive for a Chinese copy of a single pickup Les Paul Junior. Epiphone’s single-pickup bolt-on LP Junior is $139. I can buy a used Gibson USA Les Paul junior for $650.
 
Elderly's has had a few of the US ones in store over the years. They are pretty nice guitars, fwiw. Don't know as if I've played one of the import Leslie West models.

^This. But at least they finally put out a LW sig that actually has a P-90, which is what he was known for with Mountain. The single bridgebucker predecessor model was simply historically nonsensical.

As far as would/wouldn't, I'm good. This with upgrades (soapbar is a Seymour Duncan) from a bud for half what the new Dean is; the seldom-seen setneck Epi Junior. Hell yeah I'm a cheap bastard.
