So, I was perusing Craigslist the other day and came across a guy selling a djembe in excellent condition. It was a 14x25 Paulo Mattioli Signature Series Inline Tuned Djembe that sells new for about $400, and he wanted $200. I got it for $165. It also came with a basket stand, a case, and the original tool for tightening the head. I had been thinking about getting a djembe on and off for the past year, so I decided to pull the trigger. Got it home, and it is awesome! The tuning system is a hybrid between the rope tuning and the key tuning.Great bass tones, and very clear trebles. The best part was that the guy and his wife were supper cool, and it was a pleasure meeting them.

That's really cool. What's it made of? It looks unusual.

It's an Acousticon material, so it's made of wood and copious amounts of glue. I would have stayed away, but it got some pretty good review online. The finish is called "metalized bronze finish," so I guess it's paint that looks like bronze. Whatever it is, it looks nice.

LOL I was kind of surprised to see the drum forum when I signed up here, but since I play drums too, I figured I'd post it. I'm kind of stoked about this drum!
