New classical guitar day.

I learned on a nylon string, but haven't owned one since high school.

This was almost an impulse buy.

$200 after tax.

I hope to post clips later.

It's a Yamaha C40.

I made the mistake of playing an old beat up La Patrie Concert classical today.

If I hadn't recently bought the Yammie, it would have come home with me.

It still might.

It was on consignment for $250.

HNCD!

I love playing classical, but my short stubby fingers don't like the huge wide fretboards on classical guitars.

If I could find a good 3/4 size classical someday that doesn't feel like a toy….

Here's what it sounds like.

This is a song I wrote in high school, so it's pretty cheesy.

My right hand technique is also so bad that I ended up using a pick (I know, I should be shot).

Still, the guitar sounds pretty good. I'm going to have to get used to the wide, flat fretboard.

Pick and nylon string work wonderfully together. John McLaughlin, Al DiMeola, Sylvain Luc, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and countless others marry the two wonderfully. :thu:
