My new project car

To many this is a complete waste of $200. To me this is beautiful.

Been recently thinking about how much time I spend in bars and needed something to occupy my time so I dont keep going back to said bars out of boredom. Ironically I met the current owner at the bar.

1968 Cabriolet VW. The interior has been pulled and sitting in the guys attic for the past 20 years so thats in fantastic shape - All the seats, door panels and carpets.

This is what it could be when done.

Restoring old VWs is always a cool endeavour. You've got a lot of rust to tackle, and fenders can be replaced. They're easy to work on too.

This is the final of my last VW I did. Wasnt nearly as run down as the one I just bought. 63 Dune buggy with a 72 dual port engine.

Always wanted to rebuild an engine from scratch. Take it all apart, clean, fix and put back together. Plenty of you tube videos to help and parts are easy to get.

This new used car will ne dowm to the bare frame and then some.

It's typical for a Beetle to rust from the inside out. Never enough heat to dry out any moisture in those things.
