My current king of cheap grocery store hot sauce: El Yucateco Black Label Chile Habanero

Dang if this stuff isn't mighty tasty... big smokey fire roasted pepper flavor with a great balance of salt and acid. The heat level is actually really mild so even people who top out around Tabasco levels could probably enjoy this. I think I paid under 3 bucks for the bottle. Only downside is that it's a blackish dark green color so it's not the most visually appealing (but at least its not the crazy artificial red they use with their habanero sauce.)

I’ve been using Melinda’s for probably twenty years. But they just swapped screw caps for drip caps that don’t come off. So I can’t pour it out to measure for recipes. I’ll give El Yucateco a try.

I'll have to try that.

Right now I have 2 big bottles of Yellow Bird hot sauce in the 'fridge. Love Yellow bird, but it's expensive ordering it from their web site (only place to get it around here).
