Flamencology
You don't deserve koa.
Both of these are very different yet enjoyable reads.

I've read the Richards one. Good stuff. The other two sound interesting. The Wilco bio by the same guy that wrote the Staples one has been in my queue for a while now.
I'll throw this recommendation out there:
I'm looking for a good Miles Davis biography. I can't remember which one was recommended here.
As much as I like reading & music, I've never read a music bio. Ever.
What's a great bio that covers a good classic rock band? Stuff like LZ, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Yes, etc.
I thought Hammer of the Gods and Saucerful of Secrets: The Pink Floyd Odyssey were fun reads. I'm sure Flamencology will disagree, but he thinks Tolkien is a hack, so I'm taking all further book recommendations from him with a large grain of salt.
I thought Hammer of the Gods and Saucerful of Secrets: The Pink Floyd Odyssey were fun reads.
Hammer Of The Gods was fun, but it had the least amount of truth of any popular Zep bio.
I never said that he was a hack, just that his characters are paper-thin. Which is fine.
As for rock bios, I've discussed what I dislike about most of them in many threads: poor writing, ghost-written, lack of fact-checking and sourcing, and my own lack in interest in glamorized drug use and gossip. Pathography, like I said, with loads of salivating made-up adventures and encounters. Some people find entertainment value in tabloids. I myself do not. My only conflict is when people say that it's good.
