It doesn't. Sometimes, it's fun to have more gain than it has and, being able to add to it, without it sounding bad is nice.
They both definitely have their own voice. On their own, I'd still pick the KOT over the ES.
It sounded really good with a loop of the ES and, playing lead with the KOT over it.
Speaking of loopers, son really needs to get one. He has the Strymon ElCapistan, "finally got it fixed" but he is over using any delay now. The only thing he uses it for is, it has a looper in it. Thing is, it's meant to mimic tape. After so many repeats, it starts to degrade. After two minutes, it's horrible and, you have to shut it off.
