Maid-Rite

Had to Google it. Looks like a sloppy Joe and had an incredibly easy recipe.

Though I've never eaten one, and I may be missing out, I'll stick to my home recipe my aunt handed down.

Been on the bucket list to try for quite a while now, still haven't tracked one down.

Edit: looks like there was one in chicago for a brief window, but it's closed now?

Pointless. Don't know how they stay open. Sloppy Joe is just about the easiest meal in the world even if you're in a hurry.
Don't argue that Maid Rite is "something different" or "special". It's a sloppy Joe. A poor one at that.

A few jobs back, I spent a month or two in rural Iowa, and it was one of the few dining options in town. They were a shining beacon in an otherwise treacherous landscape of Taco Bell and Applebee's.

so we have 2 Sloppy Joes, and 1 not Sloppy Joe.

Looks like a Sloppy Joe.

There's kind of sort of a crucial ingredient in a sloppy joe that makes it a sloppy joe, you backed-up bilge pumps.

It's drier than a sloppy joe. Also it does not taste like a sloppy joe. But I can see why someone who has never experienced one would say that.
