That's one way to make use of the old parallel printer port. Wonder if the PC would actually be able to recognize that USB drive.
Doubtful.
USB is a serial protocol. One of those adapters would have to be an active circuit to buffer the data and convert the data to use the parallel interface. And vice versa.
No way that could work. The green adapter is to allow the use of dual mode mice (USB and 5 pin) to work on a 5 pin mouse connector. The connector didn't do any conversion, it just broke out the correct wiring. Likewise the grey connector is is plugged into. It was to allow dual mode mice (5 pin and rs-232) to plug into a serial port. No conversion - just breakout.
