Food Jam: Let's come up with a rational diet plan for Smurfco

Apparently, the "two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame-seed bun" diet is incompatible with his mental and physical health. Waddaya got?

The following plan is largely compatible with what Mrs. bsman and I have been following (lately, perhaps not quite as stringently) for the past three years and has helped me lose between 30 and 40 pounds, as well as maintain a tenuous hold on my emotional and mental health.

Yes, but it doesn't even have to be that complicated. Reduce carbs and sugar. Eat whole foods. Especially raw veggies. Look up your favorite veggies. Some actually have high carb counts.
My biggest set back is cutting out alcohol completely. I get a lot of calories from bourbon.

I said diet, not purge...

Breakfast - yogurt, protein bar, and a piece of fruit.
Lunch - a salad
Dinner - whatever you want. But eat a reasonably balanced mix of things, not whoppers every day.

Beer on Friday

When you have a burger, make it yourself from lean ground beef at home. Eat more white meats. Reduce carbs. Lots of fruits and vegetables. Excersize. Mostly cardio. Work the muscles too. Muscle burns more fat. Don't eat in the evening.

I still think that low carb is the way to go. You have your 5 basic food groups-meat, salads or low carb vegetables, cheese, nuts, & eggs. You can certainly get creative with those combinations of foods. It takes about 5 days to get over your carb intake & adjust.
