Question: Les Paul Kit w/o Fret Markers...

..and ebony fretboard. What finish would look best with this. Preferably not paint, I'm tired of waiting for the kit that I have going now to get painted. I was thinking, next kit will be done with gun stock oil. I loved working with that on the neck that I did.

My personal ideas so far have been:

Wine red
Ebony Stain
Blackburst

I like the idea of Wine Red or Ebony stain. Amber would look good too.

I approve strongly on the ebony fingerboard sans inlays.

It is sooooo hard to go wrong with Wine Red. It's also a hard color to screw up.

Yeah, I like the darker parts and less flame.

I sort of like the tone I got on the back of my neck on this project. It would probably be considered more of a butterscotch colour.
