I'm totally a knife guy at home. If I'm out, I'll use whatever is provided. It's all about the jam getting on the toast. :thu:

Small jar in which a spoon can scrape the bottom without getting the handle silky, the spoon. Always.

Tall jar, spoon until it's difficul to reach then switch to a knife mainly because it's a long handle.

If I had one of those long sundae spoons, I'd use it all the time.

Probably spoon, then knife, but if I have a knife in my hand at the time, fuck it, you know?
I would hope your knife in your hand was clean and unused though, that would be worse than double dipping. What if your knife in hand was previously used to cut some canadian bacon or to cut though some homestyle potaotos , etc....would you still use it to get jam out of the jar ?

I think the last time I had toast with jam on it, Carter was president.

But, when I did, I spread it with a knife. Because knives are for that.
