It's been a pretty good year for concerts. Who have you seen in 2014?

Duller than cardboard
I met a friend for a beer or three tonight and we were remarking on the fact that we've seen some pretty good shows this year, particularly for a backwater town like Albuquerque. My list for this year looks like this:

Blue Oyster Cult — great show, middle of fucking nowhere, New Mexico.
Arrested Development — free show, danced in a Walgreens parking lot
David Francey — got to meet him after the show
Paula Cole — at the zoo
Chris Isaak — at the zoo
Cherry Poppin' Daddies — free show
Kim Richey — at the botanical gardens
Over the Rhine
Johnette Napolitano — acoustic solo show, tiny art space
Dave Rawlings Machine — Nashville show. Got to hang with @Kerouac and @jaxn slim
Leo Kottke — pending, December 3rd
Nickel Creek — whoa
Suzanne Vega — got to meet her after the show
Crosby, Stills & Nash — ugh
Soundgarden — front row, dead center
Nine Inch Nails — front row, dead center
Dave & Phil Alvin, John Doe, Terry Allen — held in a 146 year old church

So who did you see this year?

Just Motorhead and Megadeth. But i was really glad to see Motorhead live, don't know how many more opportunities I'll have.

Sleep and Ghost. That’s all for me. I’m not willing to pay the outrageous fees most venues charge for tickets now—anywhere from $7 to $20 per ticket at Denver venues. It takes me 30–45 minutes to drive to a venue, so I don’t go buy tickets in advance, and I don’t want to drive all the way and find out the show sold out. And the live music scene in Boulder is just awful—third tier jam/blues/jazz acts and has been rappers for the frat boys. So I just don’t go to many shows.

Nice list.....I've stopped travelling to catch up to acts unless it's going to a city where my daughter lives and we'll grab tickets..

My last few shows were Tom Petty,Neil Young,Steve Earle...Etc....We're not talking peanuts.................

Hmmm.

Been a slow year for me. Just Nickel Creek this year. Working on a plan to get tickets to the Foos to take my boys next year. I hope to find a way to see Bob Mould pretty soon too.

They did really well. Couldn't tell Lemmy had been ill. They totally screwed up Ace of Spades though, some have told me Lemmy does that on purpose because he is sick of it. But it really was great, i was glad i was there. And let me take this moment to say, Phil Campbell is pretty underrated, and Mikkey Dee is flat out awesome.

Springsteen
McCartney
Tom Petty/Steve Winwood
Boyer & Talton(Cowboy)
Wet Willie
Leon Russell
Drive By Truckers
Jason Isbell
Willie Nelson

I saw Ghost last year. That was a fun show.

I was impressed by how tight the show was. It’s easy to write off Ghost as a joke if you haven’t seen them live. I’ve never seen anyone but Prince put on such a tight show. I’m amazed that those guys can be in other bands and still have time to rehearse Ghost so much.

Laith al-Saadi, kick ass guitarist. November 7 in St. Louis, Michigan.
Yes
Suzanne Vega, this coming Saturday
A big popular band my 14 year old daughter loves who's name I cannot recall, who sampled Vega's song "Tom's Diner"
The warmup band for the unrecalled band, New Politics. I saw these because I was the chaperone for my daughter and her friend. I enjoyed the music, actually. Just can't see the band when everyone else is standing up.

Drive-By Truckers (6th time :embarrassed: )
Reincidentes
Bunch of bands at the Desertfest 2014, highlights being Sasquatch, Samsara Blues Experiment, Monkey3 and Anciients.
Black Sabbath with Motorhead, Soundgarden and Faith No More.
Brant Bjork

Actually been quiet year. Hopefully going to see Mastodon in a couple of weeks though.

I saw more live music this year than I have in a long time.

Ben Folds
Jay Farrar
Tweedy
Beck
Bad Religion
Bob Mould
Phantogram
The Jayhawks
And hopefully the Old 97s in December.

I had a good time at all of them and everyone of them put on a good show.

Been quiet generally:

Saw...
Aerosmith
Joe Bonamassa
Thunder
Richie Sambora
all on the same day (28th June) at the Calling Festival.

Saw Passenger with support from The Once last Sunday (16th November).

Seeing Bryan Adams this Friday (21st November).
