It's not an electric, but it's still a guitar...

First higher-end guitar purchase in decades, first all-solid U.S. made acoustic...long lusted after Larrivee.

I'll post a pic or two of my own once it arrives...maybe.

Nice!

I have an abiding love for walnut in acoustic guitars and I have almost pulled the trigger on that very model several times. Congrats! That will be a killer guitar.

Thanks folks.

Yeah, I've wanted a Larrivee since I first played a few in a little guitar shop in Albany, NY back in 1996. A maple back and sides Larrivee dreadnought that I played in the the very early 2000s remains one of the best sounding guitars I've ever heard and probably the best sounding I've ever played. I was leaning towards a dreadnought thinking about volume, but I'm not actually playing with anyone right now so I don't need a cannon.

But the main thing is the smaller OM body with the 25 1/2 scale and the wood recipe. The walnut back and sides is something that I really liked in the discontinued Gibson J-15 that I was considering for a couple of years. Larrivee's OM body depth is just a hair deeper than Martin's 000/OMs, so scale and added "depth" should increase projection and ever so slight enhance the bass. Very looking forward to playing this one. My wife is an amazing and special person for allowing this to happen.

Now I'll need a good acoustic stand and a decent guitar humidifier.

Yeah, I've been hunting for a while, the time was right, and this was too good to pass up.

So many of the other companies are behind in manufacturing (and therefore not in stock and won't be for MONTHS), have consistency issues, not the "right" specs for me, and/or even just too expensive. I'd LOVE a Lowden, but they are way too rich for my blood.

This is the right mix of specs and features for me. Shipping on Monday, we'll see how long it takes to get here...given how screwed up shipping has been for the last year plus...

The firstest of first world problems...it's being shipped UPS Ground with a Thursday by 7PM delivery estimate.

I just want it in my hands. That said, I am a bit worried about the heat we're dealing with and any extra time the guitar spends in a dark brown truck in the blazing sun with ridiculously high humidity. I guess a few days shouldn't be too bad...
