I swear it looks like someone at the factory loaded the body pattern up side down. They made too many to throw out so they went with it. They call it an upgrade and charge for it. That!, My friends, is marketing.
It gets weirder. Set-neck, mahogany with an ash veneer, and pickups that tilt like on a Tele. And since it's circa '82 I'm sure the pickups are super overwound.
