I took my resting pulse rate this morning and...

Mine is 81

That good or bad? 81 pulses in 60 seconds.... is that how ya do it?

First of all is that your resting pulse rate? That's different than your pulse rate taken during activity. Best time to measure resting rate is first thing in the morning, literally before you get out of bed. Also you should measure on a morning you can sleep late and wake naturally.

If you are between 60 and 100 you are good.

56-61 according to Fitbit data over 2 years. Not bad for a sorta senior-type citizen? Check the Fitbit against my Polar chest strap and it’s within 1-2 bpm.

Good on you for being aware.

Usually in the 50's when I don't overdo the coffee. Interestingly, it usually shoots up when I play a guitar, even if i'm just noodling by myself.

I just had a company physical and mine was 60. I'm not young and this was apparently one of those "good for your age" comments. I'm sure that was low, as I am not a particularly active guy, and, well, the old thing.

I have been plus or minus 50 over the last months. Listed right now by my Garmin at 48 rhr. Though I am at 69 here at the office.
