I remember reading that the trouble he was in was civil lawsuits from three now adult men who claimed the elmo actor had sex with them when they were minors (one was like 15, the others were older but still not legal. Elmo guy said it was consensual sex. There were no criminal charges filed, but these men were looking for damages. All three cases were tossed from court because the events happened like 8-9 years ago and the judge ruled there was a limited time where one could file for damages in these situations.
