Gary Blanchard
beloved, local musician
that I will debut tonight at the Open Mic at Luthier's Co-Op. Here's the lyrics, which will probably be tweaked along the way. I'll try to record it soon and post it.
Sears’ catalog came filled with dreams of presents soon to come
That Santa put beneath the lighted trees.
Children running down the stairs, sleepy parents close behind.
These are among my Christmas memories.
The Christmas star, my first guitar, and home-made pumpkin pie;
Looking out to see the windows freeze.
The family all gathered, petty differences aside
Are among my Christmas memories.
Chorus
The choir singing Silent Night, the angels heard on high
As they sang a lullaby to greet the Prince of Peace.
The peace that fills my spirit, and the peace that’s yet to come;
These are my favorite Christmas memories.
Lights strung across the city street, the carols in the air,
Children buying presents for their families.
Santas on the corner, and Santas in the stores,
Help to fuel my Christmas memories.
Chorus
