I have ordered a Raclette machine.

I'm split on this one. on the one hand, single-purpose kitchen implements are kinda dumb. on the other hand, melted cheese.
That's the thing to me. How often would I use it? Since my heart attack, the answer should be never; even without, my guess is I'd use it once.

I just cut cheese and dairy out of my diet. But why not just melt the cheese when you're toasting the bread?
 
It is the start of my city's Christmas Market season, so just about every street corner in the old city has a raclette stand on it. I had some yesterday at a curling party. Yes, the curling that you do on ice with the big stone and stuff.
