I don't want your bass

When i was working returns at a big box hardware store, we had a defective Billy Bass come in. We took the skin off, and it was the most horrifying thing you've ever seen when it started singing.

The question is to prove a point that if your material or product is garbage, no amount of cosmetic dress-ups are going to change the fact that it is garbage.

I.e. you can't polish a turd.

And yet, nobody can tell the difference between guitars made with different woods.

I'm not going to lie, Basswood is about 2 dollars a BF cheaper than Alder or about 4 dollars a guitar cheaper than Alder.

He's totally a dick boosting profits.

Personally I think Basswood sounds great. It's been a favorite of mine before I built guitars.
