Because they are tasty. They could be called "tasty shit rolls" and I would still enjoy them :)

I find it so interesting how Hawaiian Sweet bread used to be just the round Pao Duce and the standard loaf. In comes the rolls and X amount of years later people are using them for sliders, hot dog rolls, etc. King's Hawaiian actually does make a Hot Dog Bun as well. The company has really expanded since the left Hawaii years ago and everything comes from the bakery in the South Bay.

Mark if you and your family make it over to Torrance, make sure that you stop in at the King's Hawaiian Bakery and Restaurant.
 
You're absolutely right. But I couldn't find a photo of a sandwich with just one slice of bologna and two heels from a loaf of bread.

I find it interesting that many call the ends of the bread heels. I just call it the end.
 
I was just handed this and told, "It's a wrap with stuff."
