For me, it depends upon the gig and the music. When I am doing my folkie thing long pants are a must but, depending on the venue, jeans may be appropriate. When I'm doing a rock/jam type thing I might wear jeans or khakis, or, at a summer outdoor gig, shorts. Next Wednesday my wife and I are doing a multimedia show at a senior center. Even though the music is folky, I will wear black pants, a dress shirt, and a sport coat. I'm flexible like that. :helper:
