Hot or Not? Hozier's black sparkle jet

bsman

happened to be watching Graham Norton with Mrs. Bsman last night and saw this performance. The song's alright, but the Gretsch made me drool!!!

Like the guitar. The song needs to be covered by a cookie monster singer in a death metal band.

I like the guitar, the song was okay the first couple times, but on the billionth listen it's just not in my wheelhouse anymore
My daughter picked up his album and we listened to it on a long car trip. I heard a lot of blues in his playing, which won him a lot of points with me. I am with you in that I hate it when a song is overplayed.

Definitely a bari, the same one he played at the Grammys. Not a Gretsch fan.

I've only heard this song a handful of times. I think the first time I was aware of it was when a Voice contestant sang it last season. Then I heard it on the one of those ultra rare occasions that I listened to a commercial radio station in the car. Then I heard it at the Grammys and a time or two since. The desire to control my exposure to music is part of why I don't listen to commercial radio. Keller Williams hit it with this one:

Oh why can’t I just latch on to your brain
And be that one song that drives everyone insane
The low end pumping right out of your trunk
That vibrate your sternum
The bazooka, a speaker of funk
That you feel,
From a block away
What is the deal?
I heard this song four times today
Reel to reel
Backed by heavies in la
No even keel

Overplay is the only way (2x)

Oh to be a one hit wonder
That will be oh so superb
Oh only for 15 minutes or so
in and out and
nobody gets hurt
in and out
nobody gets hurt

Record label mafia
is a putting on the heat
With a new store in Seattle
The next day Miami Beach
the next day it’s Jay Leno
and the next day Letterman
And then it’s Oprah in chicago
Man, when will it all end?
But I say have now fear
I’ll be gone before you know it
In my private Lear
No second chance I dont want to blow it
Disappear
To my neverending luai
In 15 years VH1 ‘where are they now?’

Oh to be a one hit wonder
That will be oh so superb
Oh only for 15 minutes or so
in and out and
nobody gets hurt
in and out
nobody gets hurt

A simple little ditty
With a sharp catchy hook
And three little cowboy chords learned from a book
A pierce above my eyeball
And em cutting down my hair
I’ll do what I’m told until I disappear
Into thin air

Oh why can’t I just latch on to your brain
And be that one song that drives everyone insane
The low end pumping right out of your trunk
That vibrate your sternum
The bazooka, a speaker of funk
That you feel,
From a block away
What is the deal?
I heard this song five times today
Reel to reel
Backed by heavies in la
No even keel

Overplay is the only way (11x)

Oh to be a one hit wonder
That will be oh so superb
Oh only for 15 minutes or so
in and out and
nobody gets hurt
in and out
nobody gets hurt

In and out
Nobody gets hurt

This is not to say Hozier will be a one hit wonder, but the idea of "overplay is the only way" is what commercial radio is all about.

definitely hawt! I like the single volume and tone controls vs the Gretsch's with the master volume in the lower horn...

Yeah -- Gretsch has the unfortunate tendency to sort of spray knobs and switches randomly around a guitar. That's one reason I like the Setzer hot rod models. This:

Makes more sense to me than this:
