Others question whether that is wise, and are worried that extracting clathrates at all could have unforeseen and perilous side effects

Actually... the methane escaping from the previously frozen lakes is kind of scary.

the one on the right is hot. The pan is silver, not some gaudy gold plated pan. Also, no birds or flamey wood.
