Temporary Promotion.

Mentioned this in passing in my grans thread, as of tomorrow I'm Acting Depute Headteacher aka if the HT is out or any reason , I'm running the school.:headbang: :eek:

Big gig, lots of other responsibilities.

I get my own office, which is small, cold, either too dark with the lights off, too bright with the lights on and remarkably close to the most used students bathrooms. :grin: plus I don't have any pals to talk to.

I'll be passing my current remit over to a colleague and will be less hands on with the kids day to day and doing no teaching. Most are sad, a handful are openly overjoyed by this

My parents are on holiday but it's been a nice bit of news for the family at a tough time.

put a search into my emails looking for an invoice.

No idea why it popped but there was an email from 2014 that I'd never seen.. it was from a top UK private school (Hogwarts type boarding etc. £30k+ fees per year) inviting me to interview for their Kuala Lumpur location.

Between the bother I got into working in the Middle East and managing to offend the snowflake Singaporean Ambassador during another school interview, I think missing this e-mail was probably in everyone's best interests :bigg:

Headteacher is out tomorrow and Friday afternoon so I'm in charge again. Hopefully no ambulance rides involved this time.

I was actually headhunted and courted by a local small private school at around the time. The Head practically begged me to "interview" , great salary, management opportunities etc. but I knocked it back. The thing is, if I did go there, people don't leave that kind of set up and I'd definitely never have gone into special needs. I'd either be in leadership or still teaching history there. The school is shutting the gates for good at the end of June. :shrug:

Sliding doors moments I guess.

Feel like I'm doing well in the new post. It's much more strategic and man management as opposed to pupil led stuff so it is quite different but I'm growing into it. I did some stuff for senior attainment planning yesterday and the boss was super impressed about how I'd gone about it compared to the way she usually approaches it.
 
We also had seniors staying over in the school last night for a Duke of Edinburgh award.

Call from a colleague that was leading it ended in me driving about at 6:30 am this morning trying to find a place that sells a specific type of sausage roll and a pack of quare slice for some very picky autistic eaters breakfast :grin:
