I got an EHX Soul Food.
I must say I love this pedal!
It fattens up my Tele>Twin reverb beautifully
and its dead-on-balls transparent as fuck.
But I also really like the dirt I get from this thing,
at some point it starts to add mids, and Im, "all
about the mids (no treble)"
I get my Keef on by adding some grit I get from it. Makes my
Twin Reverb sound like a High Powered Tweed Twin.
For $62 it cant be beat (unless Mooer comes out with one for $44)
I gave it a face-lift pretty much as soon as I knew it worked.
Im going for an Original Klon theme.
The problem is the knobs are so shitty they have been known
to break the pots when trying to remove them,
so I just taped the bitch off and spray painted them,
then added pointers with a drop of yellow paint.
Another problem with not being able to take it apart
was when removing the sticker I got some scratches here
and there but, standing 2 feet away you cant even see them.
anywhoo...great sounding pedal.
if you are looking for
-clean boost
-mild OD
-decent buffer (it does TB and Buffer with an internal switch
which PaulC (Timmy designed for the KTR...Bill Finnegan insists
it sounds better with buffer on but Its a nice option to go TB if you
swing that way))
I recommend this pedal. Just ignore the hype and all the B.S.
