Been contemplating a practice amp/something I can use for low volume gigs for a good while.

So pulled the trigger on the version 2 Katana 50 and got it delivered today.

Guess I'll be doing a bit of testing tonight.

I've had worse Fridays I guess.

Oh yes.

Just did some playing on it, and have to say Boss really got that amp very right.
Plenty of very usable sounds, and I haven't checked out the USB thing yet.
Really is silly what you can get for a couple hundred these days.

Yeah, it was a safe buy in that regard. Expecting it to be a great pedal platform as well, will try that out this weekend.

Haven't delved into the USB thing yet, but brought it to tonight's band practice.

This really is the perfect practice/backup amp for me.

One thing that rarely gets mentioned is how well it deals with rolling back the volume pot on your guitar.
Had it on the brown setting all night, and it sounded just fine.

Doing this local bi-annual comedy review gig these days, 6 shows in 9 days, and I'm using the Katana.
For those kind of gigs it's a fantastic amp. Got it on clean and running the Boss ME80 in front of it.
Brilliant simple little rig for that where I need to play at very low volume and cover a lot of styles.

As much as I love the Victory amp and big pedalboard, that rig is just too damn loud for this gig.
