In order to reduce my commute to practically nothing I had to sacrifice about 40% of the living space I had previously, and a lot of amenities including a very nice kitchen. We could not find enough room in the new home's kitchen to put away our stuff, even though we did pair down some. Plus the old kitchen was ridiculously short of counter space, and the cabinets had a lousy paint job on them. Since we needed extra storage space we just gutted the kitchen and replaced everything. I'm so happy with the way it turned out.eat08)
