The analog tape fad came and went pretty quickly. Those “Recorded and mixed on analog tape” stickers didn’t really make a difference to people who buy digital media anyway. Analog is cool great if you’re Lenny Kravitz or Dave Grohl and have the budget to collect vintage gear and build your own studio. Or if you own a record label like Boris. But many bands are recording entire albums for less than a decent tape machine costs. Although Electric Wizard tried going back to analog (again) last year, but the wet summer played havoc with the machine and delayed the album.
Also, I’m pretty sure Lenny Kravitz bought this unit years ago, so maybe even he’s lost interest in tape.
