Here's The Real Way I BBQ Pizza..

Sporting a hammer...
Step 1 - Place three clean cans on the BBQ in the center. Close the lid and keep the heat on high.

Step 2 - Finely dice the toppings of your choice. They need to be finely chopped because the pizza only takes approx. 10 minutes to cook.

Step 3 - Make the pizza dough. I used Fleischmann's Pizza Yeast. Follow the directions on the bottle for the perfect pizza crust. You don't have to wait for this dough to rise.

Step 4 - Spread the dough onto a lightly greased pizza pan of your choice. I used aircraft metal - don't ask !

Step 6 - Leaving the lid of the BBQ closed, wait for the temperature to rise to between 450 and 500 degrees

Step 7 - Place the pizza pan on top of the three cans. Be prepared for the temperature of the BBQ to fall significantly when you open the lid to place the pizza inside. Close the lid again promptly.

Step 8 - Allow the pizza to cook for approx. 10 minutes. Don't be tempted to constantly open the lid and check the progress as this will cause the temperature inside the BBQ to keep dropping.

Step 9 - Remove the pizza from the pizza pan promptly to ensure that it does not continue to cook.

Step 10 - Slice and Enjoy.

Once you get the process down for making these, you can produce one every 10 minutes. We had one cooking whilst we were preparing the next on a second pizza pan.
This is a great alternative at a kids birthday party to the usual hamburgers and hot dogs as you can get the children involved by asking them to create their own pizzas using the toppings they want to eat.

I approve, and would gladly help eat that. :)

I would grill pizza every weekend, except then I would have to buy larger clothes.
