Help! Hello, I'm Bob and I'm an Amp Addict!

Back when I was considering getting the '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue, I was able to A-B it with the '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb at a local music store. It was really a hard choice between the 2, but I finally decided to go with the '65 because it was so buttery smooth. Weeeeeeell, I got a nice bonus this Christmas and among other things I made one impulse buy . . . I got the '68.

While the '65 sounds buttery smooth to me, the '68 can get aggressive on the custom channel. Also, while the '65 has reverb and vibrato on a single channel, the '68 has them on on both the "custom" and "vintage" channels. Turns out, I fell in love with both amps!

Here's the '68:

The '68 is the one I'd be into if I were looking for a new amp...the one I heard at NAMM sounded really good for the money.

Right one. My dream amp would be a DR with only the one channel. Volume, Treble, Bass and Reverb, hell, I would be happy with just Volume, Tone and Reverb.

You would think that as I move toward the amps that I really want, that I would give up some of the amps that have gotten me this far. So far, that answer seems to be no. I gotta get some space! anifp

For a while I was thinking of having Kevin Nelson build me just that as a replacement for my Deluxe but thats kind of what the Holland is (or would be if I switched the tubes out to 6v6's)

Congrats, Bob. Heaven knows (see what I did there?) that you could have worse addictions and bad habits. Enjoy that amp!
