I picked this up at a yard sale in my neighborhood last weekend for $3. Vintage circa '73 Simpson multimeter. Replaced the batteries it works fine, built like a tank.

Beauty! IIRC, those cost about $100 - in 1973 dollars!

Yeah, a quick search online looks like the price of the current equivalent model is around $250. There are times when having a responsive analog meter can show you things that you can't easily see on a changing digital display.
