It's a pretty great adoptive home.

When we moved here, I hated it. And that lasted a few years.

But really, now, I find very few things that I honestly hate about it. And I doubt I could say that about many other countries.

I mean, fuck snow, but that's what the west coast is for.

Anyway, a lot of the best things in my life have come from being a Canadian.

Happy Day, fellow norteamericanos!

Does this mean a day off from work, school etc.?

Yes. Public holiday (day off or double pay), fireworks, concerts, etc.

Pretty much the same deal as the US Independence Day. It's fun to cross the border on the 2nd or 3rd and get two really similar parties within the same week.

If you fuckers hadn't been so mean to Benedict Arnold, you could have had independence almost a hundred years earlier!

This was my same experience
Every country has its share of problems
Every country I have traveled to, has had something I loved or hated about it

Belated thanks and Happy Canada to all you other Canookians.

We did food, music and fun with friends at a patio bar.

Actually, to me it sounds more like "a boat" than "aboot".

And after all these years, I was unaware that Geddy was a lefty.
