Hamer is back in the sense that the name was sold and they're making import guitars. I'll wait for the custom shop guitars to show up before making any judgements.

Yup, "Hamer" in name and (sorta) design only. These days, nothing wrong with Indonesian-made guitars, but the price points seem like they are trying to ride high on the name. Frankly, a lot of the MIK Schecters within the same price range have specs that crap all over these...having said that:

My Steinberger is 16", my Carvins are 15", and to me, flatter is more comfortable.

KMC has always owned Hamer. Fender had bought KMC, and it was one of the brands that came along for the ride. But they sold KMC a couple of years ago, and I forget who owns the company now.
