Guitar, Electric Bass, Drums... also teach recording technology and theory/comp classes

All, but mostly beginner to intermediate

Yes

Yes, depending on the student

Yes, as well as live drums

8. use guitar method books?
Sometimes. I'd buy them on Amazon but used copies are so damn expensive there.... :embarrassed:

9. Use a computer to aid in teaching?
Yes. I'm a Mac. :tongue:

10. Music Education?
I dropped out of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in my second quarter. I've been playing music since I was 4 or 5 though.

11. lesson rates?
$20 per-hour, though this fall I'll be giving myself a raise to $21.00

12. where are you located?
Loveland, OH (suburb of Cincinnati)

I bought my copy when my local music shoppe closed. :( I've found it really good to use with middle school aged kids because the lack of theory the school band program teaches them just makes me :mad::mad:.

Barrett, i started using the Guitar Fretboard Workbook with a couple of my more advanced students. i haven't touched Fretboard Logic since i bought it last year. well done!
 
I forwarded this to my brother who teaches. Here are his answers:

Where do you teach? Music Store

Instruments taught: Guitar, mandolin, bass

Skill levels: All

Read music? Yes

Teach music reading? Yes

Use a metronome/drum loops/etc in lessons? Metronome

Use guitar method books? Yes, Mel Bay

Use a computer to aid in teaching? Yes, PC. Often use Transcribe for teaching and learning new songs.

Music Education? GIT and a couple of years of jazz education in college where I studied arranging for a nine piece band and other theory. I studied with Bud Demic (Grant Geissman's teacher) and I'm studying with Mimi Fox at the Berkeley jazz school.

Lesson rates? $120/month for four half hour lessons.

Where are you located? Morgan Hill, CA
