Guild Westerly R.I. USA X-170 Manhattan 1999 Natural

Arguably my favorite for the style. I've always preferred Guild's hollow and semi-hollow guitars to Gibson from an aesthetic perspective. When I was going through a period of thinking I wanted to Steve Howe I wanted a Manhattan, but more like this one:

But I realized that I didn't need his guitar to cop his vibe and that I was interested in other stuff (and not wanting to cop any one players vibe...ideally create my own). The thing that was a guitar geek hold up for me, however, was the neck pup was mounted right at the end of the neck and Steve's ES-175 had it moved more towards the bridge. Being an aforementioned guitar geek, I was overly concerned about how the sound wouldn't be the same. Of course this was stupid on many levels, the primary one being that if I was that worried about copping his ES-175 tone why was I more focused on a Guild Manhattan X-175?

I would definitely love to give the X-170 a thorough spin though.
