That prank stopped being funny & original weeks ago, if it ever was.

Doesn't mean he deserved to be assaulted necessarily, but yeah it could have gone worse for him.
 
YouTube is full of prankster-style videos like this, and it's a wonder non one's been killed.

The prankster guys have to be real quick with the "hey, it's just a prank" while on the run, but sometimes the "victim" isn't in the mood for any shenanigans.
