Gibson just seems scared to me. Fender seems less so overall. It's a shame, I was thinking about one of these down the road:

It's hard to tell. It might just be that the guitar in the top photo is tilted down.

It's definitely different, look at the top bout. It has the indent,a smaller version of that like found on the LG series Godins whereas the first versions had the LP-styled arch straight to the neck. Also the Core models that had the same profile and the two vol and two tone knobs are gone. It's just an assumption though...the C&D part.
