2007 I got on the wait list for an Analogman King Of Tone. My name came up 2009. I paid about $230 new. For anyone who does not know, it’s a heavily tweaked, dual OD, based on a Marshall Blues Breaker pedal circuit.
My KOT started really showing it’s age with the pots and switches. DeoxIT helped revive it. But, I decided to find a backup.
Last year I bought a Ly-Rock King Of Clone for just over $70 shipped. After changing internal dip switches and adjusting the internal presence trim pot, I got them to sound very close.
The King Of Clone Ly-Rock sent me violates trade dress. It’s essentially a counterfeit. Not cool!
I sold my original KOT for about $650. I kept the KOC, but added stickers, so it won’t be mistaken for an original KOT.
