Nice so far, but that article opens with:
The Sunday-school singalong "You Are My Sunshine" is the rare evergreen that seems to withstand all manner of musical abuse.

That ain't no Sunday-school singalong. Grade school, maybe, but not Sunday school.

So Yusuf is rocking out in kinda a blues style on some old traditional sounding tunes with some of his own stuff thrown in. some of it is ok. Certainly some skill evident. nothing completely compelling emerged on first listen.

the opening acoustic guitar seemed nice. But then he got all bluesy and rock-y and it did not sit that well on first listen.

Yeah, I always appreciated his songwriting and the unique style he had. This is a lot of covers with odd choices of style and originals that don't hold up.
