Hot or Not? Fender FSR 1972 Telecaster Deluxe

I have the earlier sunburst model. Mine has a nice chunky neck. One of my favorites. I put some Lollar Regal pups in it. $400 worth of pick-ups in a $700 guitar? YES!! They sound amazing. Just like I remember the 72 WR Seth Lover's sounded. Perhaps this design seems wrong or weird to Tele fans these days, but back in 1972 these were the cat's ass. Very hip. I like the sparkly ones, but I'm just not sure it's me.
Here's a picture of some "Guy" playing one.

I played a bandmates 76 tele deluxe on gigs for while during a refret/wiring job on my 175. I never really "got" into it. It had that hated maple neck.

I like it to look at.
I don't know what the neck is like and I suppose it would need Telenator's replacement pickups.

Those look pretty cool. And if the pickups are the latest updated version, they're better than the previous MIM ones. Still not great, but better.

I would get one of those in a second. I've played a few. The only reason I don't have one is lack of money. LOL
