I'd try it. Kudos for having options for no gold hardware and no humbucker.

Curious/sceptical about the neck. Though I concur with their assessment re: necks with glossy finishes.

I can't stand those Pink Paisley abominations that Fender put out but that engraved version is seriously good looking.

I'd swap the control panel round to have the 3 way at the front, volume pot in the middle and tone at the back. In a perfect world I'd like an option for a humbucker at the bridge and a single coil at the neck like the Fender Plus Smurfco has.

I saw unfinished tele bodies sorta like this on Ebay.co.uk. I wasn't so sure about it, but I like how it looks here. May look it up again.

I rather like that too. The price is pretty reasonable, all things considered. If I were in the market I'd think hard on this one.

Hold the gold...

I like it. I've been thinking about one since they were released. I'd have to do some horse trading to justify it though.

I have a StrettVita with the laser carved neck, and the concept works for me.
At first you think you'll feel every little bump and nook, but after you spend a minute or two, it just feels like a guitar neck that doesn't get 'sticky' in your hand.
