Custom Homemade Picks Pics

Added pennys to the picks, kind a like the Gibbons, May using a 6 pence kind a thing, but with custom tips....

The weight was perfect...the control was extreme and the sound....loved it....
and maybe like bowling balls and drilling so the weight is in a certain place, we could move the pennys for weight forward or weight back....extreme honing of the positioning of the weight...

Good thing I don't have a life or I'd never have time for this stuff LOL

I may have to try diamonds next!!!!!!!

I use two types...
But basically these are two part liquid plastics that you mix and the quickly exotherm, kind of like cure to a solid.

One is called "Alumalite". Model railroaders use it etc... Becomes a very hard non-flexing material that really makes the strings ring.

The other is from another company and is still exothermic but is used for industrial purposes... Ends up looking and feeling more like a hard vynil pick. Much softer sound.

Both can be poured into the same RTV molds.

Alumalite picks are usually ready to use in about 10 minutes.
The other about 25 minutes.

This is where I got the second plastic..the white softer stuff.
As you can see, they sell many different types of liquid plastic.
I may try some of the others...
