Critical Listening.

I have a massive CD collection, many of which are jazz albums. I used to buy every Blue Note recording I could find when I was studying music at Fullerton College. However, I own several albums that I have never listened to! It's my goal to listen to at least a few of these "lost" albums each week until I'm caught up. Here's what's on the agenda today.

4 Tracks:
- My Funny Valentine
- Blues By Five
- Airegin
- Tune-Up/When Lights Are Low

This album is one of five recordings that the Miles Davis Quintet recorded on Prestige in the Spring of 1956. They were recently re-released as the Rudy Van Gelder Remasters. Some of the other album titles are:
Workin'
Relaxin'
Walkin'

I'd like to re-familiarize myself with all of them. These recordings are considered by many to be the Bible of straight-ahead jazz.
