Cars and guitars

I'm new to the forum and just wandering around to see what people were talking about. Along with being a guitar builder and player I'm a bit of a motor head and happen to have some pictures of some of my toys. I tried to come of with a theme for each picture

These are affordable vintage - 1975 BWM 2002, 74 D-18, 80 D12-28 and 69 Yamie

The bimmer is stage tuned, has been tracked and, unfortunately I sold it last fall. New owner grew up in the car and promised to let me take it out to play

Here are some modern classics - 63 Morgan plus 4, my home made tricone and a long scale ladder braced 12 string

A pair of deuces - 1932 Ford (not mine, unfortunately) 1932 Dobro (mine)

A couple of noisemakers. When you want to wake the neighbors and make the neighborhood dogs howl

Enough of this sillyness, eh?

Sweet!

I drive a boring Hyundai Santa Fe but this was my 1965 Chevy c10 truck that I had until this past summer:

I like cars a lot. I've had a lot of fun cars over the years. These days I drive a very sedate station wagon. I have a lot of guitars, but none of them are really vintage, other than the fact that I started playing in the 80's and kept some guitars from that era.

When I did the original Cars and Guitars thread at that other forum I started it by say that people asked me why I felt I had to have several guitars. I said well, its kind of like owning different cars, some times you need something with a lot of hauling capacity

and sometimes you just want something fun to drive (this is my wife's daily driver)

Sometimes you just want to take the top down. pack a picnic and go for a drive in the country (Grant, if you are watching, notice the RHD - I know how to shift with my left hand)

But the whole idea was to pair certain guitars with their equivalent cars.

Someone asked for more pictures of the Deuce - unfortunately the car is a friends and I was more interested in the dobro plus guitar theme, so I don't have great pictures of the car itself. Its a real steel 32 high boy, classic Merc flathead, just your basic 1955 hot rod, the cars I dreamed about (and built) back in high school. Here is what I do have for pictures

Damn, that old dobro keeps jumping into the picture.

Here is one more pic of the Moggie, we were at a backyard party and a few classic cars had shown up. The band was a group out of Seattle, they wanted their picture taken by the old cars.
