Bullshlt lyrics

Was listening to this on the radio and it pissed me off.

Whiskey Lullaby, performed by Brad Paiseley and Alison Krauss

She put him out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
She broke his heart, he spent his whole life tryin' to forget
We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind
Until the night
He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short, but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said, 'I'll love her till I die.'
And when we buried him beneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby
The rumors flew but nobody knew how much she blamed herself
For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath
She finally drank her pain away a little at a time
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind
Until the night
She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away his memory
Life is short, but this time it was bigger
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees
We found her with her face down in the pillow
Clinging to his picture for dear life
We laid her next to him beneath the willow
While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby

Now, I have seen clients drink themselves literally to death. It is not pretty. All that remained before the end was a grasping, addicted thing that lied to everyone they loved, and to themselves, to get that next drink. More like a grasping aged Bilbo who sees the ring that last time. Not romantic at all.

it's country music.
remember D.I.V.O.R.C.E ? that was such a happy song.
country music by itself will drive people into a whiskey bottle.

Wow, guess I dissed on Bro country, and whatever that is, in a matter of days. And no, I do not remember that divorce song.

i'm just saying that an awful lot of country music is about loosing things and sadness. women, trucks, dogs......and jail. you know what i mean.

and divorce was loretta lynn.

I liked song okay, not a Paisley fan though. The vocal harmonies were good, but I really didn't like the lyrics. And the wife and did this one way too many times.

But all headstocks are beautiful? Bullshit.

The premise behind the #allheadstocksarebeautiful meme is there is always another reason to not buy an instrument that takes precedent over the headstock shape. Take yesterday's awful tele-like monstrosity. The neck, and how it was attached to the body, was cringeworthy. You didn't need the headstock to decide it was terrible. The construction did the job for you.

New U2 song:

You're the best thing about me
The best thing that ever happened a boy
You're the best thing about me
I'm the kind of trouble that you enjoy
You're the best thing about me
The best things are easy to destroy
You're the best thing about me
The best thing about me

That ever happened a boy? Really?

Many song lyrics, taken alone, don't stand up well. In the case of the original song, it is a gross simplification of death from alcoholism, but romanticizing getting drunk has been a country music staple forever. I remember my second ex- MIL complaining about all the sex and drugs in rock and roll while listening to country drinking and cheating songs. :embarrassed:

Also, since when do bottles have triggers?
