It becomes tacky when you duck tape dollar store Christmas lights on it and don’t take them off after the holidays. It becomes tacky when you tie a bandana onto the headstock and slap Corona beer stickers on the body. Tacky is taking new parts and paint artificially aging it and saying it’s special and charging $5000 for $900 worth of guitar. However, the real genius is convincing people it’s worth it because it’s just like one made in 1959.
