I know the synapse line and the later zt3 models are all Korean production. The spirit models were always Korean and have stayed in production even after the US production ended. The Synapse and ZT3 were pretty interesting as they seemed to involve a significant investment in making new models with Ned Steinberger's design input. I imagine Gibson spent a lot of money on all the tooling and such. I also think getting Ned involved was expensive, as he was off making orchestral stringed instruments with his NS Designs company. From what I have read the Synapse and ZT3s are high quality stuff.
